First LEED Home in Minnesota

Construction in tune with our environment.

Northway Construction, a Vercon company, was honored for building the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified home in Minnesota and for completing the state’s first LEED certified whole-house remodel. Now, as Vercon, we continue to build LEED certified homes in Minnesota and are proud to be leaders in building “green.”

We can help you make design and construction decisions that make sense for you, your home, and our environment. Building green can mean different things to different people. To some, it means taking reasonable steps to reduce fossil fuel consumption and lessen our impact on the Earth. To others, it means ensuring a healthier living environment for families.

We believe building green means constructing a home to a higher standard for both the owner and the environment. By making practical choices and weighing the return on investment of each design decision, we can be a steward of your budget as well as our environment’s natural resources.

Did you know?

LEED certification is the U.S. Green Building Council’s nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings. During Steve Northway’s tenure as CEO of Building Knowledge, Inc., the company was chosen by the U.S. Green Building Council to develop the national LEED for Homes program.
